From October 17 to October 26, 2012, Feng Guanghua, Vice Secretary-General of NAFMII, led a delegation to Australia and Thailand. The delegation successively visited Australian Financial Markets Association (AFMA), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ), Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand (SEC), Thai Bond Market Association (ThaiBMA), and other self-regulatory organizations, financial institutions and market supervision departments. The delegation exchanged in-depth thoughts on mutually interested topics including financial markets development, market discipline framework and risk management.
During the visit of various organizations in Australia and Thailand, the delegation gained insights into the current macro-economic situation, financial market trend especially the development of the bond and derivatives markets as well as the credit rating industry, and the experience on market risk management. In addition, the delegation also had discussions on issues such as the role self-regulatory organizations in encouraging market discipline, information disclosure and investor protection mechanisms.

During the meetings, Mr. Feng introduced the achievements in development of Chinese bond market, as well as NAFMII’s effort in promoting product and system innovation, self-regulatory management and membership services in the inter-bank market, and discussed further enhancement of bilateral exchanges and cooperation. The organizations commented that the financial market in China, especially the bond market, has achieved remarkable, rapid development, appreciated the hard work NAFMII made in promoting the development of financial market at the platform of self-regulatory organization, and expressed their hope to further deepen bilateral cooperation and strengthen communication in market information exchange and joint research.
