Secretary-General Shi Wenchao Meets with the Delegation Led by Jean Boivin, Canada’s Associate Deputy Minister of Finance and Finance Deputy at the G7,G20 and FSB

On January 30, Secretary-General Shi Wenchao met with visiting delegation led by Jean Boivin, Canada’s Associate Deputy Minister of Finance and Finance Deputy at the G-7, G-20 and the Financial Stability Board.

At the meeting, Secretary-General Shi Wenchao first of all extended his warm welcome to Mr. Boivin’s visit. Mr. Shi expressed his hope that the meeting would further promote bilateral cooperation and exchange since NAFMII has set up good cooperative relationship with Canadian financial market regulatory institutions, self-regulatory organizations, major financial institutions and Canadian Embassy in China. The secretary-general then introduced the developments of China’s bond market in recent years, especially the corporate bond market, and background, functions and work of NAFMII.

Mr. Boivin said that this is his first visit to China after assumed his current position, and he gained a better understanding of China’s bond market and the role of NAFMII through the introduction by Secretary-General Shi. He expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to strengthening communications and invited Secretary-General Shi to visit Canada at a convenient time this year.
